Office 365 now brings the power of the enterprise to the SMB, based on Microsoft Public Cloud infrastructure it is the obvious destination for your email and collaboration services. The latest version of Office 365 (now based on the Exchange 2016 and MOSS 2016) is a best in class messaging and collaboration platform. It is reliable, scalable and includes a host of additional products and features such as skype, onedrive for business, Yammer, Team Sites and depending on the plan you subscribe to full versions of Office products available on practically any device. One of the biggest pain points for small business owners is the constant need to upgrade IT infrastrucutre to accomodate growing email database and the ever changing communications requirements. Office 365 solves many of these issues and does away with costly hardware and infrastructure upgrades. I have successfully migrated a number of clients to the Office 365 platform

A. The short answer is No, Microsoft do not "backup your Office 365 data" (including Email). As with all cloud services you must backup your own data using an additional backup solution something I highly recommend see my backup solutions here.
